Smoothies aren’t exactly rainy-day food, I appreciate that. Days like today – cold blustery rain bordering on flurries – bring to mind hot chocolate, tea and frothy lattes more than cold, blended fruit drinks. This is, however, my favourite smoothie of all time, and I will not let the weather ruin it for me the way it has my hair.
Usually I’m pretty casual with smoothies – bananas, frozen fruit, yogurt, milk, blender, boom. I don’t measure and inevitably end up with 3.5 glasses to sip at while working or chug down post-run. This pear nutmeg version is higher maintenance – coring the pear, grating the chocolate – but well worth it. It’s subtle & decadent enough to make you forget the weather entirely.
